Pothole Detection and Prevention using YOLOv5 in ITS (Intelligent Transportation System)

Potholes on roads can cause serious damage to vehicles and accidents, so it is essential detect them quickly accurately. Determining appropriate strategies for ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) service critical. In this study, the proposed solution employs YOLOv5 perform real-time detection of potholes in images videos. The dataset annotated videos containing potholes, were used train fine-tune algorithm. approach exhibits exceptional accuracy detecting highlighting its capacity boost road maintenance efforts while reducing occurrence accidents related potholes.
